South African finance minister, Nhlanhla Nene, is delighted to be "part of the solution" in working with National Department of Public Works to deliver energy efficiency across the Mpumalanga region. To date, they are projecting approximately 35% reduction in energy usage against a minimum target of 10%. There is no doubt that water and energy efficiency projects will continue to deliver value not only in terms of a green agenda, but more importantly in securing profitability and financial sustainability for property portfolios in both the commercial and public sector.

Therefore economic growth seems to still be on the cards - more on the finance minister's plans are outlined in this article.
